The inaugural Venice Agreement gathering in Venice, Italy (2022), and the accompanying global on-the-ground workshops were organised by Antonieta Eguren, Camila Marambio, Fernanda Olivares, and Nicole Püschel with Ensayos, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Chile, and the Michael Succow Foundation, partner in the Greifswald Mire Centre. This gathering was made possible with the support of the Andrea von Braun Foundation, the Torres Vedras Municipality, and the Centre for Geographical Studies of the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning, University of Lisbon.
The 2026 gathering in Kisumu, Kenya, and the accompanying global underground workshops are organised by the VA Organising Committee – Antonieta Eguren, Camila Marambio, Caroline Vitzthum, Cisca Devereux, Fernanda Olivares, Leonard Akwany, Miguel Geraldes, Nicole Püschel, and Suza Husse – together with Ecofinder, RE-PEAT, WCS Chile, Sensing Peat at Michael Succow Foundation (MSF), partner in the Greifswald Mire Centre, HachSaye, W-U-Replay, and the Global Peatlands Initiative (GPI).
